Texan Flight - with
links to youtube video
clips from my actual flight
Finally - for the second time, I had an
outstanding and
utterly enjoyable time flying the T6 Texan (shown below from 2004). I
have included a few additional links that include movie clips of the
aerobatics I performed with it with an IP. There is even a clip of me
flying in formation with a Mustang again.
After the take-off,
we started out by doing a warm-up to see if I'd toss my cookies pulling
up to 4g's in a steep
turn. Next we moved into wing-overs
where you climb up and use all of your energy, allowing the nose to
fall through on its own (left or right). Aileron
rolls were next, requiring very little g loading if done
right. We started doing some barrel
rolls, but took some time out to hook up with the P-51
Mustang for some formation flying. Continuing the adventure,
we do a few more barrel rolls before its time for loops!
Steve takes the time next to improve my instructional skills with
an accerated
stall from a level left turn, followed by the more
interesting accelerated
stall from a right turn, which takes you upside down. The
flights ends with a
military
right break to a landing.
The Texan is a wonderful airplane to fly, and Steve is an awesome and
safe instructor.
Happy Flying!!! I'm having a ball.
