AirDorrinSingle-Engine Full Course Instrument Ground School

Instrument training is available to you at Georgetown (GED). Other area airports as well, if you desire. I recommend using the Jeppesen Syllabus, but the Sporties and Cessna Pilot Center syllabi are acceptable as well. Note that all major syllabi now incorporate an FTD or Basic ATD in its training, and specifies lesson plans for its use. Since I have an FAA approved Elite simulator based at Georgetown, we can incorporate it in your training. The FAA recognizes the use of these devices for up to 10 hours of your logged training time toward your rating requirements of 40 hours minimum (part time students take 55-60 hours, in my experience).

For those of you who choose to use your own airplane for the entire course, or a rented airplane for that matter, I welcome to opportunity to teach you to fly instruments proficiently with the equipment you have.  I'll also give you free advice (worth every penny) as to what equipment you might consider adding next. Since I am a believer in using the simulator for recurrent and proficiency instrument training, I'll offer several hours of free simulator instrument training to those who decide to use an airplane exclusively, so that you'll learn the value of simulation training.

For those of you who would like to take the course for educational value, we can base the entire course on the use of a simulator, and then ensure you'll get up to 10 hours of loggable experience in simulated instrument conditions.

I didn't feel the need to add lesson plans to this segment of the website, as I would be following either the Jepp course, or the one you choose.
