From there to Philly was my leg in Clear VFR. Just a touch of IMC. \u00a0Flew this leg by hand because I wanted to. \u00a0The approach to a visual RW26 was a challenge because the Captain called it insight before I had it. \u00a0We got it sorted out and the landing went fairly smoothly.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1169\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1169\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.airdorrin.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/image7.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1169 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/www.airdorrin.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/image7-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1169\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ice Probe with light rime<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.airdorrin.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/image6.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1168\" src=\"http:\/\/www.airdorrin.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/image6-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>Daylight arrived prior to me flying the next leg up to Albany. \u00a0We had some IMC and rain in the area descending out of 16000&#8242;, best that I can recall. We even saw some ice this trip.<\/p>\n<p>Approaching the airport from the south I could see a rain shaft maybe 3 miles from the threshold of runway 19, the landing runway. I had the choice of flying an ILS or a visual, and I chose the later to keep our schedule moving.<\/p>\n<p>Passing over the last mountain at 4000&#8242;, I descended smartly to pattern altitude and flew the thing like a Cessna 172. Right downwind; right base just touching the rain shaft; final in light rain.
